The Sanger Police Department K-9 Unit was re-established in 2011. Currently, the Sanger Police Department has two K-9 Teams.
Team Officers
Officer Aceves-Cruz and K-9 Skye have been teamed up since June of 2020, and Officer Salazar and K-9 Drago have been teamed up since February of 2021. Our Officers and K-9's are assigned to the Patrol Unit.
K-9 Skye is a 1 year Belgian Malinois imported from Slovakia. K-9 Drago is a 2 year old German Shepherd & Belgian Malinois mix imported from Slovakia. Both K-9's are currently working on becoming certified in narcotics detection. Our K-9's are currently trained in:

- Criminal apprehension
- Handler protection
